Wave Tech has revealed plans to establish Pakistan’s first-ever lithium battery manufacturing plant at the Malir Industrial Park (MIP) in Karachi, with a significant Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of $200 million. The state-of-the-art facility is scheduled to begin construction in December 2025, with production expected to start by mid-2026.
This pioneering initiative marks a major step toward modernizing Pakistan’s energy infrastructure. The plant aims to phase out traditional oxide batteries in favor of more efficient and sustainable lithium-based alternatives, helping the country transition to modern energy solutions.
